I'm always curious about everyday habits that make people feel better. These are some of my mine - nothing fancy, just small simple things that have made a big impact over time.
A Simple Skincare Routine
Yes, I was one of those who fell into the rabbit hole of a 10-step skincare routine and constantly trying new products. Only for my skin to get worse :) Now, I use a gentle cleanser in the evenings and a moisturizer with SPF in the mornings. Once a week a gentle exfoliator. That’s it.
Daily Walks
I try to walk outside everyday without the pressure around 10K steps, just at least 30 minutes of fresh air and movement. Usually I end up walking more once I’m out. It’s amazing what a simple walk can do for your mood.
Less Sugar, More Balance
I am one of those who needs a little sweetness everyday. So, instead of restricting myself and then eating a whole bar of chocolate in the evening, I go for natural sweetness throughout the day. For example, a medjool date with my coffee or drizzling a little bit of maple syrup on my greek yoghurt as a midday snack. This way, it keeps cravings in check without feeling deprived.
Switching to Mineral Makeup
My skin is sensitive so I have to be very careful in choosing the products I apply on it. Switching to mineral makeup (free from synthetic ingredients) made a huge difference for me. Generally I don’t wear much makeup but this was a game-changer.
Less Caffeine
I aim for no more than 1-2 cups per day. Even though I love to discover coffee spots, I've realised I feel better keeping the caffeine intake in check. That also means that the one cup needs to be really good. Life is too short for bad coffee, right?
None of this is revolutionary - but together, they've made a real difference!
